How do I format titles from my sources in the text of my document and in the reference list?

Answer

According to the American Psychological Association (2020):

Work titles that are stand-alone such as books, websites, and reports:

Italicized in-text and in the reference list.

Title case is used in-text, sentence case is used in the reference list.

Work titles that are "part of a greater whole", such as articles and edited book chapters:

Not italicized in-text or in the reference list.

Quotations are used in-text.

Journal titles always use title case in the reference list and in-text, as well as italics.
