How do I reference a chapter out of a book?
Answer
You do not need to write separate references for chapters from books where all the chapters were written by the same author, or just one author is credited with the authorship of the book. You will just reference the entire book. In the in-text citation, you can reference the chapter if it feels relevant to draw the reader to the whole chapter (see link for further information). However, you do need to write separate references for chapters from an edited collection where each chapter is written by a different author(Lee, 2020).
The general format for this reference is:
Author, A. (Year). Chapter title. In E. Editor (Ed.), Book title: Subtitle (ed. number, pp.). Publisher name. DOI
