How do I cite a YouTube video?

Answer

The MLA Style blog reminds you to stick to the general format of MLA style: author, title, container, contributer, date, location:

The creator is the author (not necessarily the account that uploaded the video; if it was a music video, for example, this would be the artist).

The title of the video exactly as is is what you put in the title field in quotations.

The container is Youtube.

The contributor would be which account uploaded the video, which you don't necessarily have to include unless you think it would be helpful.

The date is the date of upload for the video.

The location would be the URL for the video.
