What do I do if a work I'm referencing is printed on nonconsecutive pages?

Answer

According to the 9th edition MLA Handbook, if a work that you're referencing is printed on nonconsecutive pages (such as a newspaper or journal article where an article starts on page 1 but then continues on page 7), include page numbers as normal in your in-text citation. But in your works cited entry, only include the first page number followed by a plus symbol(193):

Williams, Joy. "Rogue Territory." The New York Times Book Review, 9 Nov. 2014, pp. 1+.
